Jie Ning offers in-person courses in all aspects of lateral flow at its headquarters in Shanghai. These courses have been attended by technical staff from industry and academic members from universities and research institutes regularly for many years. Our strategic and regulatory sessions provide a wealth of information pertinent to marketing and business development in the area of POCT. We provide insight to the entire ecosystem necessary for successful development, manufacture.
The class sizes are generally small and very”hand-on” using machines and material pertinent to lateral flow production, with particular emphasis on selection of appropriate materials, biologicals and machines. The courses are conducted primarily by 2 staff experts:     Ms. Gu Xiaohui (Rhea) has over 16 years of experience and held director level positions  in  Chinese and foreign owned companies. She has extensive experience from development through commercialization, including product registration and marketing. During her career as  a primary scientist, she has lead her various teams to develop drugs of abuse tests, cardiac markers and many other tests using blood, urine and saliva. Over the years, she has built a reputation for being a “problem solver” for many in the industry. Rhea has a passion for teaching and training, and has herself attended many advanced training courses in technology, administration and management.     Ms. Angel Jiang has over 10 years of experience including executive management roles  in domestic and foreign  enterprises. She is an expert in technology transfer and building of manufacturing plants including plant design and layout, facilities and personnel  organizational structure, as well as supply chain management. She has set up entire information and management systems as well as supply chain and after-sales service for  the entire organization of a Japanese diagnostic corporation in China. Angel is a true scholar with advanced academic training and certification in multiple areas including as an auditor for ISO13485, and many  international management programs. She is an avid supporter of disseminating knowledge and technology and truly loves teaching.

The most common difficulties in the manufacture of LA devices are caused by the hidden complexity of the device. As the test is composed of many elements. problems can be caused by material incompatibility, flaws in the connection of the overlapping elements or imperfect material characteristics. During the development of LFIAs, most attention has been focused on finding the most suitable detection method or choosing the best antigen or antibody. Nonetheless, it is very important to pay attention to all elements of the test, including the basic components such as the backing card. adhesive strip and cover tape, in order to produce a consistent and high-quality product. Two formats of the LFIA can be distinguish: direct and competitive. A direct test is used for larger analytes such as p24 antigen used in the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) test, as well as analytes with multiple antigenic sites such as human chorionic gonadotropin(hCG) used in pregnancy tests. The hCG test is an example of a sandwich-based assay, where the target is immobilized between two complementary antibodies. In the direct test, the presence of the test line indicates a positive result and the control line usually contains species-specific anti-immunoglobulin antibodies, specific for the antibody in the particular conjugate. In the case of small molecules with singal antigenic determinants, which cannot bind to two antibodies simultaneously, competitive tese used. In this type of test, the analyte blocks the binding sites on the antibodies on the line, preventing their interactions with the coloured conjugate. Therefore, a positive results is indicated by the lack of singnal in the test line, while the control line should be visible independently of the test result.
